The Lightbox is nominated for The Art Fund Prize, 2008 short list
The Lightbox in Woking is one of just four museums and galleries from across the UK to be short listed for The Art Fund Prize (formerly The Gulbenkian Prize). It is the most prestigious arts and heritage award in the countryThe purpose of The Art Fund Prize is to recognize and stimulate originality and excellence in museums and galleries in the UK, while increasing public appreciation and enjoyment of all they have to offer. The winner stands to receive £100,000 in prize money.
“We may be biased having worked with them for several years but The Lightbox really deserves the support to win. “ said Director Rosalind Johnson.
The Lightbox will be competing for the award alongside well established institutions such as The London Transport Museum, The British Library and the Wellcome Collection.
